Wireless network connection stuck on validating identity rules for dating a rich man
Even after scrolling to my OS, there are still quite a few options and I want to be sure I'm getting the right one. Weird, cause it sure *looks* like a registry script...
I just installed a new Linksys ADSL modem/router at home.
This all started a few months back when I had an original problem, took it into some (SEEMINGLY) reputable guys who basically turned out to be horrible shysters.
God only knows what all they did to it; at the very least they seem to have utterly screwed over System Restore.
Click on Properties once you select the wireless network that is having problems.
Click on the Authentication tab and now uncheck the Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network box.
After about 30 minutes of fiddling around with various settings, I was able to figure out what the problem was.
Here’s how to connect to your wireless router if you are getting this message.
Yes, it is set to automatically detect same and no, the problem is not with the router/modem; my husband's laptop is sitting right next to it and connecting just fine.
It looked like there was more there to read and it was cutting it off.
Just to be sure I selected all and copied and pasted it to a notepad document, and that's all there was...
When I clicked Start I got the following error message: Could not start the DHCP Client service on Local Computer. Connection Status: ============== Localhost is accessible. The log for that was quite long and so I am attaching it to this post. Open Notepad and copy the text below into it and save it to your desktop call it then right click it and select merge Reboot your machine and then,fo here and set your services back to default select your correct os and download and unzip the file to your desktop Right click and select Merge Reboot your machine.
Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start. Please create a restore point prior to doing this, standard for any registry adjustments, copying below the line.
